We provide free educational workshops to community groups and community organisations. We specialise in working with people from non English speaking backgrounds focusing on new migrants in preventative education, with the goal of empowering them with the ability to better integrate into Australian society. These sessions are also available to indigenous groups. These educational services are currently being delivered directly to the community by our lawyers and paralegals on the following topics:
- Residential Tenancy Education
- General Finance Issues Education
- Family Relationships and the Law (family Violence) Education
- Driving Motor Vehicles in Western Australia
Community Education and Elder Abuse
We also offer community education on a topic relative to elder abuse as our specialist legal service, the Older Peoples Rights Service reports that approximately 70% of their elder abuse cases involve Family Agreements. Accordingly we offer preventive education talks on these “Family Agreements and Elder Abuse”. These information sessions compliment the recently released topic sheet “Family Agreements: Knowing your Rights and responsibilities” a jointly produced publication by the Department for Communities and our legal service. For a copy of this Topic Sheet please see: Family Agreements
