Our Family lawyers can provide advice and representation on children’s issues; and limited advice about property in marriage and defacto relationships. Please note that representation is limited by resources & prioritisation. More details on our Family Law services are as follows:
Children’s Matters
Our Family Lawyers can assist with most children’s matters including but not limited to parental responsibility orders, “spend time with orders”, relocation issues, Hague Convention issues, and issues dealing with at risk children. Note: we do not deal with child matters involving the Department of Child Protection.
Limited Advice about property in marriage/defacto relationships
Our lawyers provide limited advice about property settlements in marriage and defacto relationships. This is due to the fact that we are limited by resources and prioritisation, noting that childrens matters will take priority over property settlement matters.
Family (Domestic) Violence, Divorce and Separation
We also provide advice on divorce, separation, family (domestic) violence and restraining orders.
CASE STUDY: Best Interest of the Child
This case highlights how community legal centres represent clients in Family Law Court concerning the “best interests of the child”.
