Volunteer Peer Educators

Our volunteer peer educators play a vital role to our organisation as part of the Older People’s Rights Service (OPRS). They are on-the-ground older educators, providing information and support to their peers in the WA community to increase awareness of elder abuse and assist in its prevention.

Our volunteer peer educators present to relevant community groups on a range of topics, including elder abuse, self-determination and age discrimination. These important conversations are helping to reduce stereotypes and negative feelings about ageing, as well as providing practical information on where to get help and accessing services that can assist.
